Candle care & safety tips

Each time you want to light your candle, start by trimming the wick. Trimmed wicks will give you a cleaner, brighter burn and prevent smoke. The first burn is the most important to avoid tunneling. Once your candle’s lit, don’t blow it out until the top layer of wax has melted all the way across. Not only will it prevent tunneling, but it will also create an even burn and make your candle last longer. Place your candle on a non-flammable surface such as a plate, slate coaster or ceramic sauces before lighting. Ensure that the wax pool is free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. Do not place your candle directly onto or near flammable or heat sensitive surfaces such as glass or wooden furniture as the coconut shells get hot and may cause damage. We strongly advise not to burn candle for more than three hours at a time. It is important that candles are not burnt when only 1/4” of wax remains. Never leave unattended and always extinguish after use. Keep your candles away from direct sunlight or spotlights. Dust can be easily removed from the surface of a candle by rubbing it with a piece of soft cloth. We love that a scent can make memories come alive. So, light a Quaint candle, go to your happy place and lose yourself in your happiest memories.
